ST. PETERSBURG, Fla – The USL Championship today revealed the full schedule for the 2024 season, confirming all 34 of the Tampa Bay Rowdies regular season matches as the club looks to earn a sixth straight playoff berth.
Tampa Bay’s eighth season in the USL Championship commences at home on Saturday, March 16 as the Rowdies welcome San Antonio FC to Al Lang Stadium. They will close out the regular season at home on Saturday, October 26 versus Indy Eleven. All but one of the club’s 17 home fixtures in 2024 are set to be played on a Saturday night.
This year’s USL Championship field will once again be divided into Eastern and Western Conferences, with 12 teams in each conference. Each club will play its fellow conference opponents once at home and once on the road, and also play each of the 12 teams from the opposing conference – six games at home, six away – to make up the rest of the 34-game schedule.
Joining the Eastern Conference in 2024 are North Carolina FC and expansion side Rhode Island FC. North Carolina returns to the league after spending the previous three seasons in USL League One, where the finished as league winners in 2023. The Rowdies will host Rhode Island early in the year on Saturday, March 30, while North Carolina comes to town on Saturday, October 26. Additionally, FC Tulsa and Memphis 901 FC have both shifted over to the Western Conference for the new season.
At the conclusion of the regular season, the top eight teams in each conference will qualify for the 2024 USL Championship Playoffs, which will kick off on the weekend of November 1-3, 2024. The USL Championship Playoffs will remain a single-elimination format and a fixed bracket format. The postseason will culminate in the 2024 USL Championship Final on CBS on a date to be determined between November 21 and November 25.
The 2024 USL Championship season will mark the first in the league’s new historic four-year broadcast agreement with CBS Sports, through which USL Championship contests will air on network television for the first time. More details on the 2024 national broadcast schedule and broadcast partners will be announced in the coming weeks.
