ST. PETERSBURG, FL – The rematch between last year’s USL Championship Eastern Conference finalists will have to wait one more day. Due to unforeseen travel delays for Tampa Bay Rowdies players and staff returning from Wednesday’s match at FC Tulsa, Saturday’s contest versus Louisville City FC at Al Lang Stadium has been moved to Sunday, June 5 at 7:30 pm ET.
Fans who have already purchased a ticket for the match will still be able to use their ticket for the rescheduled match on Sunday night. All questions regarding tickets should be emailed to tickets@rowdiessoccer.com.
Sunday’s match pits two of the USL Championship’s best sides against one one another. The league’s last five Eastern Conference titles have gone to either Tampa Bay or Louisville, with the former besting the latter in the last two Conference Finals. Last year’s Eastern Conference Final was played in front of a capacity crowd at Al Lang, with the Rowdies pulling out a thrilling 3-2 victory. Veteran striker Lucky Mkosana notched two goals in the final ten minutes of the match and attacker Steevan Dos Santos sealed the match with a header in extra time.
