ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (May 9, 2018) — The Tampa Bay Rowdies are headed to Jacksonville next week to open their 2018 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup journey against the NPSL’s Jacksonville Armada FC.
This is the second-straight year the Rowdies have opened against Jacksonville. Tampa Bay won 3-0 at home on May 16 of last year, the same date the teams will meet this year.
The Second Round match will be played at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 16 at Southern Oak Stadium on the campus of Jacksonville University. Stay tuned for ticket and streaming updates from the Armada.
Jacksonville advanced to its matchup against the Rowdies by beating The Villages SC (PDL) 2-1 in the Play-In Round at home on Sunday and then SIMA Aguilas (PDL) 2-0 in Montverde on Wednesday night in a First Round match.
