A message from Rowdies Chairman and CEO Bill Edwards:
This past Saturday night I was very impressed and thankful for all the fans who came out in the rain for our semifinal match. It rained all day – but still more than 5,000 fans bought tickets and actually came out to the stadium. Everyone was in rain gear – including me – but after a while no one seemed to notice that it was still raining. That is a true test of a real fan!
So I want to thank everyone that, like me, sat in the rain and cheered on our team in their fight against the defending USL Champions. It took two hours of non-stop action before the Red Bulls II finally stopped our attacks and ultimately won the match. But it was the most exciting game I’ve ever witnessed.
I’m sure like you, I was so very proud of our team. They left it all out on the pitch. They never quit, and they fought like true champions.
I’ve only had this club a few years, but in that short time the team and fans have grown beyond compare, and we will continue to grow as your professional soccer team right here in St. Petersburg, FL.
