The North American Soccer League’s Ft. Lauderdale Strikers and Tampa Bay Rowdies today announced an official joint partnership with the Florida Youth Soccer Association (FYSA), making them the Official Youth Partner and Community Partner of both clubs.

This innovative partnership is the first of its kind in the Southeast and is a major step in helping to continue the growth of soccer in the state of Florida. FYSA now receives direct access to the two Florida professional teams that play at the highest level in the state, while the Rowdies and Strikers are now further connected with the state governing board of soccer and all of its members through FYSA.

The partnership officially kicks off this Saturday, March 31 when the two Florida rival teams meet in a preseason match at 7:00 p.m. at FYSA’s Lake Myrtle Complex. Admission to the game is free.

As part of the partnership, both the Rowdies and Strikers, two of the most storied soccer brands in North America, will contribute to FYSA programs by lending their professional soccer resources to competitive programs such as the Olympic Development Program, to recreational programs such as TOPSoccer, as well as to coaching education and FYSA statewide events.

Both clubs will each host a FYSA Night of Champions, where they will recognize all Region Cup first and second place teams from the Ft. Lauderdale and Tampa Bay areas during a home match. Rowdies and Strikers players will also be present at FYSA sanctioned events such as FYSA State and Regional Championship games.
