This year marks the League of Women Voters’ 100 year anniversary as a voting rights organization born of the women’s suffrage movement. The League of Women Voters of the St. Petersburg Area (LWVSPA) leverages our strong legacy as a voter protection, education and empowerment organization to effectively support community issues that affect all citizens such as election protection, voting rights, voter education and an accurate census. We are a nonpartisan political organization that encourages informed and active participation in government, works to increase understanding of major public policy issues, and influences public policy through education and advocacy.
