ST. PETERSBURG, FL – On Tuesday, the USL Championship revealed the Team of the Week for Week 17 of the season, with Tampa Bay Rowdies defender Conner Antley earning a spot for his performance in the club’s 2-1 win at Las Vegas Lights FC.
Antley provided the assists on both of Tampa Bay’s goals to claim all three points in Las Vegas. In the 24th minute, Antley launched a long throw in from Tampa Bay’s defensive end of the field that sprung forward Cal Jennings for a breakaway into the final third of the field, where he slammed home a shot with the outside of his boot. When the Rowdies needed a late breakthrough, Antley threaded a pass through several defenders for JJ Williams in the center of the field. Williams made the most of the chance with a quick turn and rocketed shot into the back of the net.
This is Antley’s first Team of the Week selection of the year. He was previously named to the Team of the Week bench in Week 5 of the campaign. Now in his third season with the Rowdies, Antley has appeared in 85 matches for the club across all competitions.
