ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – The USL Championship announced the Team of the Week for Week 30 of the regular season on Tuesday, with Tampa Bay Rowdies Goalkeeper Jahmali Waite earning a spot for his outstanding performance in the club’s scoreless draw at San Antonio FC.
Waite earns his second Team of the Week selection of the campaign following a five-save performance in San Antonio to secure the Rowdies league-best 14th shutout of the regular season. With four matches left to play in the regular season, the Rowdies are one shutout away from matching the club’s record for clean sheets in a single season. The club’s current single season record of 15 shutouts was established in 2021 when the Rowdies claimed their first USL Championship Players’ Shield.
Waite has posted a career-best 12 shutouts through 22 starts during his first season in Tampa Bay. The Jamaican International’s previous record of 10 shutouts came back in 2023 as he helped Pittsburgh Riverhounds take home the Players’ Shield.
After securing home field advantage for the opening match of the 2026 USL Championship Playoffs at Al Lang Stadium on October 30, the Rowdies are aiming to maintain momentum by clinching the top seed in the Eastern Conference and Players’ Shield. The Rowdies control their fate in both races, holding a six-point edge over the Charleston Battery in the Eastern Conference and a five-point advantage over El Paso Locomotive FC in the hunt for the Players’ Shield.
The Rowdies return home this Saturday, October 3 to host in-state rivals Miami FC at 7:30 p.m. ET.
