ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – The USL Championship announced the Team of the Week for Week 29 of the regular season on Tuesday, with Tampa Bay Rowdies Forward MD Myers and defender Charlie Ostrem both earning spots for their performances in the club’s 4-0 win over Birmingham Legion FC.
This marks the fourth Team of the Week selection for Myers in 2026, while Ostrem earns the league-wide honor for the second time this year.
Myers accounted for three of Tampa Bay’s four goals over Birmingham, recording the first Rowdies hat trick since 2024. The 25-year-old attacker now leads the Rowdies with 12 goals in the regular season and 15 tallies in all competitions. With four assists, Myers also ranks second in the league with 16 total goal contributions.
The hat trick snapped a six-match scoreless stretch for Myers and helped him hit a personal milestone in his USL Championship career. His second tally of the match was his 40th regular-season goal since joining the league ahead of the 2024 season.
“It’s been a little frustrating not being able to score some goals, but I think I’ve said it before; goals come in bunches,” said Myers. “I got that first one tonight, probably my easiest goal of the year. Sometimes those easy ones are the best because it gives you a little more confidence to take your chances.”
Ostrem had an all-around outstanding performance on both sides of the ball against Birmingham. While Ostrem didn’t officially record an assist, his corner-kick deliveries created the scoring chances that led directly to the first two goals of the evening. Ostrem, whose eight assists this season ranks second in the league, also made 12 defensive contributions to help the Rowdies post their league-leading 13th shutout of the season. He won two tackles while also recording eight clearances, one block, one interception, and two recoveries during his 90-minute shift.
Next up for the Rowdies is a trip to Texas to face San Antonio FC this Saturday, September 26 at 8:30 p.m. ET. A Rowdies win over San Antonio would clinch hosting rights for the club in the first round of the 2026 USL Championship Playoffs.
