ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – The USL Championship announced the Team of the Week for Week 23 of the regular season on Tuesday, with Tampa Bay Rowdies Forward MD Myers earning a spot following his standout performance in the club’s 3-0 win at Orange County SC.
This marks Myers’ third USL Championship Team of the Week selection in 2026. Myers, who notched a goal and an assist in Tampa Bay’s decisive victory over the Western Conference leaders this past Saturday, also earned Player of the Round honors in the Round 2 of the Prinx Tires USL Cup Group Stage earlier this year.
The New Jersey native opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 23rd minute with an emphatic strike into the back of the net for his team-leading ninth goal of the season and 12th goal across all competitions. Myers also offered the assist on Tampa Bay’s second goal of the evening in the second half, collecting a rebound in the box before sliding a pass to teammate Marco Micaletto to covert. The assist was Myers’ fourth on the season, which ranks second on this year’s squad.
With the win over Orange County, the Rowdies extended their lead in the race for the USL Championship Players’ Shield to seven points with 11 matches left to play in the regular season. The Rowdies also maintained their eight-point advantage over the Charleston Battery in the Eastern Conference standings.
The Rowdies return to Al Lang Stadium this Wednesday, August 12 at 7 pm ET for a knockout matchup against Louisville City FC in the Quarterfinals of the Prinx Tires USL Cup. The winner will advance to the Semifinals of the tournament on September 9.
