Rowdies Notes
The Tampa Bay Rowdies arrive in Atlanta below the playoff line, but with plenty to play for Wednesday night. The Rowdies still have a chance to qualify for the postseason if they finish the regular strong and get help from results elsewhere. The Rowdies are currently four points short of eighth place North Carolina, but have games in hand on Bethlehem and Ottawa in sixth and seventh place, respectively.

Tampa Bay tied the Modern Era club record for wins in a calendar month in September with four. The Rowdies had only won four matches in a calendar month once before, in May of 2010.

The Rowdies have struggled on the road in the last few seasons and started this season with a dismal 2-7-1 (W-L-T) record this season before picking things up a little bit since August 22. The Rowdies are 2-1-1 in their last four road matches, starting with a draw in Pittsburgh.

Tampa Bay will have the chance to play on a full week’s rest for the first time in a while. The Rowdies’ last match, a 2-0 loss to Indy Eleven on September 26 was their fourth match in 12 days.

Rowdies forward Georgi Hristov did not travel with the team this week after exiting the Rowdies’ win over Richmond on September 22 with a knee injury in the 70th minute. Subsequent testing revealed a knee sprain.
