ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (April 5, 2018) — The Tampa Bay Rowdies return this weekend looking to bounce back from their first setback of the year against a familiar foe.
The Rowdies will welcome Ottawa Fury FC to Al Lang Stadium for the newest edition of a series that dates back to 2014.
Here’s a look at a few of the key matches taking place around the USL this weekend.
Tampa Bay Rowdies vs. Ottawa Fury FC
Saturday, 7:30 p.m. | WATCH HERE
All eyes will be on Georgi Hristov as he continues his pursuit of history. Hristov has 55 goals for the Rowdies, two short of Derek Smethurst’s 57 for the all-time club scoring record. Hristov has scored six goals against Ottawa in his career.
Ottawa heads to the warm weather of St. Petersburg having only just begun training outdoors due to frigid conditions in Ontario. The Fury FC has only played once this season (a loss in Charlotte on opening weekend) due to a scheduled bye week and then a postponement last weekend in Toronto.
FC Cincinnati vs. Louisville City FC

One of the USL’s fiercest rivalries will be renewed in Cincinnati’s home opener at Nippert Stadium on Saturday night. Cincinnati was already picked up two road wins in the early part of the season.
Louisville is off to a typically good start, having beaten the Rowdies last weekend at home. Like Cincinnati, the defending champions are yet to drop a point this season.
Nashville SC vs. Charlotte Independence

Nashville won its first-ever match last weekend on the road in Bethlehem and now returns home for its first match at First Tennessee Park.
Charlotte sits atop the Eastern Conference after picking up seven points from a three-game home stand to start the season, but now has to leave Charlotte for the first time in 2018.
