ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (July 14, 2017) — Tampa Bay Rowdies center back Damion Lowe has been busy on international duty, playing a key role in Jamaica's good start to the CONCACAF Gold Cup group stage.
Jamaica opened the tournament last weekend in San Diego with a 2-0 win over Curaçao. The Reggae Boyz followed that up with a 0-0 draw against Mexico in Denver last night.
Lowe has played all 180 minutes for Jamaica so far and posted back-to-back clean sheets.
Jamaica sits tied with Mexico for first place in Group C of the tournament heading into the final group stage match, though Mexico is ahead via tiebreaker. Jamaica wraps up the group stage against El Salvador in San Antonio on Sunday at 6 p.m.
Should Jamaica advance as the either the winner or runner-up of Group C, it will move on to Glendale, Arizona for a quarterfinal match next week.
