ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (May 26, 2017) — The Tampa Bay Rowdies return home Saturday night to host Saint Louis FC for the first time. The Rowdies are coming off a road loss in Rochester on Wednesday night, but Tampa Bay’s home form this season has been stellar, with the Rowdies winning five of six league matches at Al Lang so far.

Here’s some of the key matches taking place around the Eastern Conference this weekend…

The Rowdies will play their fifth match in 15 days tomorrow night, but will return home from a two-game road swing. Tampa Bay won the first three matches of this congested portion of the schedule by a combined score of 8-1 before losing 1-0 in Rochester.

Saint Louis FC hasn’t played since an Open Cup win on May 17, so STLFC should be well rested. Saint Louis’s roster includes Wesley Charpie, a Palm Harbor native that played college soccer at USF.

Orlando City B vs. Charlotte Independence
Saturday, May 27, 7:30 p.m. | WATCH HERE

Orlando City B currently sits inside the playoff field but without much room to breathe, just one point ahead of 9th-place Saint Louis. OCB hasn’t played a match in two weeks, so rust may be an issue.

The Charlotte Independence hasn’t played a league match since a 5-1 thrashing of defending champion New York Red Bulls II on May 11. Charlotte followed that up with 3-2 win its crosstown rivals, the Charlotte Eagles, in the Open Cup on the 17th.

New York Red Bulls II vs. Charleston Battery
Sunday, May 28, 2 p.m. | WATCH HERE

New York is on a rare three-game losing streak that began with a 5-1 hammering by Charlotte a few weeks ago. The Red Bulls haven’t recovered yet, subsequently losing to the LA Galaxy II and Ottawa Fury FC. All three losses have come against teams in the bottom half of their conference.

Charleston extended its lead atop the Eastern Conference on Thursday night with a win over the Bethlehem Steel and will continue its road trip in the northeast with a visit to the defending champions.
