ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (April 20, 2017) — The Tampa Bay Rowdies return home Saturday night to face the Charleston Battery in their third match in eight days, an interesting early season clash against one of the USL’s most historic clubs.

Tampa Bay Rowdies vs. Charleston Battery

The Rowdies come home in first place despite picking up just one point from a difficult two-game road swing to Louisville and Cincinnati. Head Coach Stuart Campbell made four changes to his lineup Wednesday night, but Tampa Bay did enough to secure a 1-1 draw.
Charleston has been off to a great start this year, sitting in fourth place coming into the weekend. Forward Romario Williams bagged an 11-minute hat trick in the Battery’s 5-0 thrashing of the Rochester Rhinos last weekend.
FC Cincinnati vs. Louisville City FC

FC Cincinnati hosts its third match in eight days against its fiercest rival in the River Cities Cup. Cincinnati is coming off a 1-1 draw with the Rowdies on Wednesday night and will be without Kadeem Dacres, who was shown a red card in the second half.
Louisville City FC is also coming off a game against the Rowdies, a 2-1 Louisville win last weekend. Since a scoreless draw against Saint Louis FC in the season opener, Louisville has won all three matches it has played.
Saint Louis FC vs. Charlotte Independence

Saint Louis FC was cruising along in first place going into last weekend’s match against FC Cincinnati, but was humbled in a 4-0 loss. Preki’s team will look to bounce back against the team on the bottom of the Eastern Conference standings.
Charlotte sits in the East’s cellar with just two points from three matches. The Independence is still looking for its win of the season and faces a tough task in visiting Saint Louis.
