By Rowdies Communications, 04/06/17, 9:30AM EDT

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (April 6, 2017) — The Tampa Bay Rowdies will look to continue their perfect start to the United Soccer League season against a familiar foe this weekend when the Ottawa Fury FC visits Al Lang Stadium. The Charleston Battery, the Eastern Conference’s only other 2-0-0 team, also have a home match to try and pick up their third win.

Here’s some of the key games taking place in the East this weekend.

The Rowdies and Ottawa have played each other since 2014, making this one of the only familiar matches on the schedule all season as the Rowdies debut in the USL. Tampa Bay is coming off a 4-0 thrashing of Toronto FC II last week and will look to go 3-for-3 to start the season at home.

Ottawa visited St. Petersburg twice last season, losing 2-1 and drawing 1-1 to take one point out of six available back home to Canada. The Fury FC has only played once this season, a late 3-2 loss to Saint Louis FC last weekend when Ottawa midfielder Sergio Manesio scored an own goal in the 88th minute.

Richmond won on opening weekend and then sat out last week, so the Kickers should be excited to get back onto the field for an interesting match against Louisville City FC. The Kickers set an attendance record in their home opener and will look to build on the positive vibes.

Louisville City picked up a road win last week, beating Orlando City B 3-1 to move to four points on the season, just below the Rowdies and Charleston in the standings.

Charleston, like the Rowdies, opened the year with two wins in two matches. The Battery have beaten FC Cincinnati and the Charlotte Independence.

Pittsburgh had a good result on opening day, holding the defending USL Cup Champions New York Red Bulls II to a 3-3 draw, but the offense couldn’t replicate its performance in a 1-0 loss to FC Cincinnati last week.
