Zac Portillos signed with the Rowdies on February 23, 2015 on his first professional contract.

Portillos is an Aurora, Colorado native that played four seasons at the University of Akron, an NCAA Powerhouse. While playing for the Zips, Portillos worked with current Tampa Bay Rowdies goalkeeper coach Stuart Dobson.

He originally arrived in Tampa Bay for the Rowdies' Invite-Only Combine from Jan. 30 to Feb. 1 and impressed the coaching staff enough to earn an extended period as a trialist. He made his first start for the Rowdies on Feb. 12 in a friendly against Malmo FF at the IMG Academy and scored his first goal on March 1 in a 1-0 friendly win over CD Fatima in Portugal.

2016 Stats: Five appearances (all starts), playing 446 minutes ... Suffered a season-ending Achilles injury on May 28.

2015: Missed six months after sustaining a ruptured right Achilles' tendon on 4/15 ... Two appearances (two starts), playing 180 minutes.
