These positions will allow an individual the opportunity to gain valuable work experience within a professional soccer organization. Internships are unpaid but available to receive college credit, if applicable. Must be available to work a few nights and weekends at team events and must be able to work all home games.

Box Office Ticket Seller
(Part Time)

The Tampa Bay Rowdies are looking for Part - Time Box Office Sellers. This position is responsible for selling tickets through ExtremeTix ticketing system and locating Will Call tickets for Tampa Bay Rowdies home games at Al Lang Stadium, downtown St. Petersburg, FL.
Essential Duties and Primary Responsibilities:
• Friendly, face to face guest interaction

• Efficiently operate ExtremeTix ticketing system

• Knowledge of venue seating configurations

• Selling tickets

• Looking up accounts

• Provide correct change on transactions and maintain a balanced cash drawer

• Provide detailed information regarding events

• Redeem coupons and other special offers

• Perform various other customer service duties, including managing incoming phone calls

Qualifications:
• Must have a high school diploma or general equivalency degree.

• Must be able to work a flexible schedule including late evenings, weekends, and holidays.

• The ability to utilize a computer in a Microsoft Office Suite environment

• Six months to one year of cashier experience

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Strong customer service skills preferred

Merchandise Store Attendant
(Part-time)

Primary Responsibilities:
• Assist as directed by the Supervisor in ensuring the location is cleaned and organized.

• Assist as directed by the Supervisor in ensuring the location is fully stocked for all events.

• Assist as directed by the Supervisor in ensuring the location is fully setup prior to the start of an event.

• Accurately ring-in sales in a timely manner at the location on the Point of Sale terminal.

• Be educated on the products you’re selling and services throughout Al Lang Stadium.

• Uphold yourself and others to the standards and policies required by the Tampa Bay Rowdies.

• Provide fun, but professional environment for fans and staff.

• Be proactive when greeting guests and providing help to all customers.

Qualifications:
  All applicants must be at least 18 years of age

• Retail sales experience preferred

• Able to move fast and act on assigned duties and walk or stand for extended periods of time

• Must be flexible to work all Tampa Bay Rowdies events including late nights, weekends and holidays.

• Energetic, self-motivated, warm and friendly personality and excellent guest services skills are required

• Must be able to work in a fast paced and continuously changing environment

• Ability to lift and carry items weighing 10-30 pounds, occasionally 50 pounds.

• Six months to one year of cashier experience

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

Athletic Training Intern

The athletic training intern will take an active role in all phases of the athletic training program. He/She is expected to act in a professional manner at all times while representing the Tampa Bay Rowdies. The position will require that the person chosen for the job is available daily from 9-2pm. Monday- Saturday.

Responsibilities:

•Assist Head Athletic Trainer and assist with pre training and pre game set up of training room and fields

•Assist staff with treatments and rehabilitation of athletes.

•Ensuring all athletes are hydrated during games/training sessions

•Maintaining a clean training room

•Assisting in ordering of training room supplies

•Assist team strength and conditioning coach

•Demonstrate interpersonal skills required to work effectively with players, coaches, and other staff members

•Coverage of college soccer a plus

Event Operations Intern

Event Operations Interns will support all Rowdies games and events. Event Operations Interns will work in every department including, marketing, ticket sales, operations, community and communications. Events include, but are not limited to: All Rowdies Home games, promotional give-away distribution, grassroots events, Soccer Schools and camps, skills clinics, promotional events, Mobile Marketing Tours, and more. The Event Operations internship is hands on and the students involved are asked to help set up, run, breakdown and evaluate a multitude of events and projects. This internship provides a look at event planning and event execution within a professional sport team.
Interns will be asked to work nights and weekends. Applicants should be familiar with Microsoft Office and possess excellent written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities:

• Communicate, coordinate event details

• Develop and work Mobile Marketing Tour program

• Assist with College Brand Managers program

• Assist on game-day, pre and post.

• Manage the set-up, and clean-up of all Union events

• Assist with in-office tasks and projects

• Work all home Rowdies games

• Assist with grassroots and promotional marketing events

Street Team/Grassroots Marketing

The Tampa Bay Rowdies Street Team/Grassroots Marketing opportunity has a focus on promoting the Rowdies through events while learning about the sales and marketing fields in professional sports. This is a unique experience that will provide the right candidate an exciting opportunity to position themselves for growth and advancement within the sports industry. The Rowdies are looking for those who thrive in social situations to help form dynamic and innovative on-campus events that will help us grow the fan base on campus and develop outings for better connectivity with the Rowdies.

Responsibilities:

• Help to generate on-campus contacts for all groups and associations

• Work closely with sales and marketing management to set face to face appointments to develop events

• Represent our organization as the on-campus liaison for promotions, tickets and events

• Primary role in the Rowdies Game Day Sales initiatives at Al Lang Stadium

• Strategic distribution of marketing collateral, pocket schedules, and gameday posters throughout the Tampa Bay area

• Maintain accurate records in support of their efforts as defined by the organization

• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Detail oriented and able to meet deadlines in regards to events and planning

• Excellent communication, interpersonal and networking skills is a must

• Must present optimism in their work toward goals and tasks

• Eagerness to learn best-practice sales methods and an ability to represent the Rowdies in a professional manner

• Must possess high levels of motivation, time management, attention to detail and organizational skills

• Must be able to relate with diverse groups of individuals

• Must possess high levels of creativity in terms of ideas, initiatives and messaging

• Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include some nights, weekends and holidays based on
               event schedule

Front Office/Administrative Assistant Intern

The Front Office/Administrative Assistant internships with the Tampa Bay Rowdies will provide qualified interns with an assortment of valuable learning experiences and exposure to all facets of a professional soccer team’s front office.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for assisting the front office in day-to-day operations.
            
• Assist with grassroots marketing and promotional events

• Assist front office staff with projects and assignments

• Assists in coordination with intern scheduling, and organization of staff

• Duties and events to be assigned with other departments as needed

Qualifications:

• Excellent communication skills

• Dynamic and confident personality

• Applicants must be familiar with Microsoft Office

• Ability to handle multiple priorities and simultaneous projects

Public Relations Intern

Responsibilities:

• Assist in all aspects of public relations, from Match Notes to stories for the website.

• Assist in writing releases notifying the media and the general public of Tampa Bay Rowdies news, community events, initiatives, player transactions, etc.

• Transcribe coach and player quotes from practice and games.

• Write Practice Updates on a weekly basis.

• Assist with media present at practice and on gamedays.

• Review weekly Match Notes, Previews and any other PR documents that are created.

• Attend community events or player appearances when needed.

• Conduct video interviews with players, coaches and staff.

Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a degree from an accredited college or university.

• Excellent grammatical, spelling, proofreading abilities are required.

• Knowledge of the sport of soccer is required.

• Demonstrate computer proficiency in Microsoft Office–Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

• Must be self-motivated and able to work well with minimal supervision.

• Highly organized, motivated and able to prioritize and multi-task under the pressure of deadlines.

• Ability to communicate effectively with the public in a professional manner.

• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
