ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (August 28, 2017) — The Tampa Bay Rowdies had a rare weekend off to watch the rest of the action around the United Soccer League and it couldn't have gone much better for the Rowdies. All three of the teams above the Rowdies in the standings lost, including two losses to teams at the bottom of the standings.

Here's a look at how the Eastern Conference matches we highlighted in our preview last week ended up.

Rochester Rhinos 2 - 1 Saint Louis FC
Capelli Sport Stadium, Rochester, N.Y.

Rochester's win pulled the Rhinos even on points with the Rowdies, but Tampa Bay still leads on goal difference. Saint Louis scored in the third minute, but then had a man sent off and gave away a penalty by the seventh minute in an eventual loss.

Pittsburgh Riverhounds 3 - 2 Bethlehem Steel FC
Highmark Stadium, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Pittsburgh edged closer to the playoff field with a 3-2 win over its cross-state rivals despite nearly blowing an early 2-0 lead. The Riverhounds were up 2-0 by the 20th minute, but let Bethlehem pull even at 2-2 in the 71st before Kevin Kerr's winner for the home team in the 75th.

Louisville City FC 0 - 3 Orlando City B
Louisville Slugger Field, Louisville, Kentucky

Louisville City came into the weekend having just ascended to first place in the Eastern Conference but was battered 3-0 by Orlando City B. Thanks to losses by Charlotte and Charleston below, Louisville didn't slip from first, but gave away one of its games in hand without growing its lead.
