ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (June 26, 2017) — The Tampa Bay Rowdies slipped to a 2-0 defeat to the Pittsburgh Riverhounds on Thursday night before getting the weekend off to watch other matches around the league.

Here’s a look at how the Eastern Conference matches we highlighted in our preview last week ended up.

Pittsburgh Riverhounds 2 – 0 Tampa Bay Rowdies
Highmark Stadium, Pittsburgh, Pa.

The Rowdies got caught on two quick counterattacks to fall to their third defeat of the season. Chevaughn Walsh and Romeo Parkes scored the goals as the Hounds picked up a home win.

Charleston Battery 6 – 1 Toronto FC II
MUSC Health Stadium, Charleston, S.C.

The Eastern Conference leaders kept rolling this weekend with a dominant performance at home. Romario Williams and Dante Marini each bagged a brace, and the Battery also got goals from Forrest Lasso and Justin Portillo to extend its lead at the top.

Harrisburg City Islanders 1 – 0 Louisville City FC
FNB Field, Harrisburg, Pa.

Harrisburg broke its slump with a home win over previously-surging Louisville, thanks to Pedro Ribeiro’s goal in the 53rd minute.
