ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (June 2, 2017) — As the calendar turns to June, the Tampa Bay Rowdies wrap up a hectic four weeks with a road match in South Carolina against the Charlotte Independence. Tampa Bay sits in second place in the USL’s Eastern Conference heading into the weekend, which also features a No. 1 vs No. 3 matchup.

Here’s some of the key matches taking place around the Eastern Conference this weekend…

Tampa Bay is coming off a 1-1 draw at home against Saint Louis FC last weekend in its last match. Both teams are coming off Open Cup eliminations midweek.

Charlotte, featuring former Rowdies goalkeeper Cody Mizell, has won back-to-back league matches but still sits in 12th place in the East.

Charleston endured a difficult three-game road swing through the northeast last weekend but did enough to remain atop the Eastern Conference heading into Saturday’s home match against third-place Louisville.

Louisville City sits in third in the Eastern Conference, but with multiple games in hand, Louisville could make a major statement of its intent with a road point (or better) in Charleston.

Pittsburgh Riverhounds vs. Orlando City B

Pittsburgh’s early season scoring touch has seemingly disappeared, with the Riverhounds scoring only two goals in their last four league matches. That drought has seen Pittsburgh slip to fifth in the East.

Orlando City B was beaten at home by Charlotte last weekend and fell out of the Eastern Conference playoff field. The loss ended a four-match unbeaten run.
