ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (May 18, 2017) — The Tampa Bay Rowdies will kick off the USL weekend with a Friday afternoon match in Ontario against Toronto FC II. A win would lift the Rowdies above the Charleston Battery and into first place in the USL Eastern Conference at least until Charleston plays Saturday night.

Here’s some of the key games taking place across the Eastern Conference this weekend…

The Rowdies head north of the border to take on a team they beat 4-0 on April 1. Tampa Bay is in good form at the moment, having won back-to-back games in league and Open Cup play by a combined score of 5-0.

Toronto FC II sits at the bottom of the Eastern Conference standings largely because its offense has only scored two goals in eight matches this season.

Harrisburg’s form has slipped of late, with the City Islanders winless in their last four league matches. Harrisburg won its Open Cup match Wednesday night in penalty kicks to at least have some form heading into the weekend.

Charleston hits the road for the first time in three matches, visiting a team one point out of the early playoff field. The Battery has won five of its last six matches to lead the Eastern Conference.

Pittsburgh Riverhounds vs. Louisville City FC
Saturday, May 20, 7 p.m. | WATCH HERE

The Riverhounds find themselves in third place in the Eastern Conference and could confirm themselves as contenders with a win over fourth-place Louisville City. Pittsburgh has won each of its last three league matches.

Louisville suffered its first loss of the season last weekend in Tampa Bay, but bounced back with a 9-0 win over an amateur side in the Open Cup on Wednesday night.
