ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (May 15, 2017) — Tampa Bay Rowdies fans have selected Georgi Hristov as their Man of the Match for his performance in Saturday’s 2-0 win over Louisville City FC.
Hristov came off the bench in the 53rd minute and totally changed the tone of the match with his aggressive forward play. He opened the scoring in the 59th minute, cutting in off the left wing and curling a right-footed shot around Louisville’s goalkeeper and into the side netting to put Tampa Bay up 1-0.
The Bulgarian forward leads the Rowdies with five goals this season and is the club’s Modern Era scoring leader with 43 goals. On Saturday, he made his 121st appearance for the club, surpassing Takuya Yamada for most games played.
