| Tampa Bay Rowdies 2013 Internships |
The Tampa Bay Rowdies have openings for 2013 internships.
The internships will allow students the opportunity to gain valuable work experience within a professional soccer organization. This internship is unpaid but available to receive college credit, if applicable.
One-year or full semester interns preferred.
Must be available to work a few nights and weekends at team events and must be able to work all home games.
Available to work 20-30 hours per week preferred. Prefer residents in Hillsborough or Pinellas County during internship.
Graphic Design Intern
Responsibilities:
• Assist in creation of marketing and sales material including, sales flyers, marketing email blasts, newsletters, website graphics, print & web advertisements, Rowdies game program, in game graphics and miscellaneous collateral
• Assist in designing and maintaining Rowdies website and electronic newsletter
• Assist with preparation of projects including finding useable photos & photo manipulation
• Develop promotional graphics for website, social media, e-mail blast and other promotional materials
Qualifications:
• Currently pursuing a degree from an accredited college or university.
• Extensive working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign
• Ability to work on both Mac and Windows platforms.
• Demonstrate computer proficiency in Microsoft Office–Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Must be self-motivated and able to work well with minimal supervision.
• Excellent design skills and creativity with attention to details.
• Knowledge of production for collateral including resolution, sizes and file
types, as well as scanning, pre-press and print production.
• Understanding of photography and an eye for photos that will convey necessary messages for design goals.
• Highly organized, motivated and able to prioritize and multi-task under the pressure of deadlines.
• Ability to take design direction.
• Excellent grammatical, spelling, proofreading abilities are preferred.
• Knowledge of After Effects preferred but not required.
• Some working knowledge of html, CSS and Flash a plus but not required.

Public Relations Intern
Responsibilities:
• Assist in all aspects of public relations, from Match Notes to stories for the website.
• Assist in writing releases notifying the media and the general public of Tampa Bay Rowdies news, community events, initiatives, player transactions, etc.
• Transcribe coach and player quotes from practice and games.
• Write Practice Updates on a weekly basis.
• Assist with media present at practice and on gamedays.
• Review weekly Match Notes, Previews and any other PR documents that are created.
• Attend community events or player appearances when needed.
• Conduct video interviews with players, coaches and staff.
Qualifications:
• Currently pursuing a degree from an accredited college or university.
• Excellent grammatical, spelling, proofreading abilities are required.
• Knowledge of the sport of soccer is required.
• Demonstrate computer proficiency in Microsoft Office–Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Must be self-motivated and able to work well with minimal supervision.
• Highly organized, motivated and able to prioritize and multi-task under the pressure of deadlines.
• Ability to communicate effectively with the public in a professional manner.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
