FC Tampa Bay practiced for two hours Wednesday morning at Shimberg Fields. Assistant coach David Hayes led the session, which focused on creating more chances around the goal as well as defensive responsibilities as individuals and as an unit.
"The guys were a little tired this morning after a long trip, so we focused on getting our legs back," said Hayes. "We are putting a nice run together right now and we are starting to get healthy. We are understanding what it takes to win, and that is everybody collectively on the same page."
FC Tampa Bay is unbeaten in its last four league matches, its longest streak of the season and the second-longest in team history. Last season FCTB put together a seven-match unbeaten streak as it did not lose a game in the entire month of May in 2010.
FC Tampa Bay wraps up its two-game road trip this Saturday, July 23 at 7:30 p.m. when it faces Atlanta at Atlanta Silverbacks Stadium. FCTB returns home next Wednesday, July 27 when it hosts FC Edmonton at 7:00 p.m. at Al Lang Stadium. To purchase tickets, call (813) 287-1539 or click here.
"Atlanta and every other team in the league is getting better, and I expect a good game this weekend," said Hayes.
