All year long, we will be bringing you up close to members of the FC Tampa Bay team.
In this installment, we feature forward Matt Clare, who is in his first season with FC Tampa Bay.
Clare, the son of former Ft. Lauderdale Strikers defender John Clare, played in the Premier Development League with the West Virginia Chaos in 2008, scoring two goals in eight games played. In 2009, he appeared in 10 matches with the Bradenton Academics and tallied one goal.
He joined the club as a preseason trialist during the 2011 preseason before being signed to a contract. Clare has played in four league matches this season and last week scored the lone goal in FC Tampa Bay's 1-0 victory over the English Premier League's Bolton Wanderers in an international friendly at Al Lang Stadium.
