Practice Update: Monday, June 27
Posted on Mon, Jun 27, 2011

After an off day on Sunday, FC Tampa Bay returned to the practice field Monday morning at Shimberg Fields.

The team practiced for more than two hours as it prepares for this Wednesday's match at Ft. Lauderdale. The two teams will meet twice in six days, with FCTB hosting the second match as part of Light Up The Bay 7.4, next Monday, July 4th at Al Lang Stadium at 6:00 p.m.

Head coach Ricky Hill said the team has tried to take advantage of the long layoff between matches, with Wednesday's game the first for FC Tampa Bay since a 3-1 loss at Carolina on June 18.

"How hard we work and how much rest the players get is just as important as the work as far as were concerned," said Hill. "It’s a balancing act. Today was about the gameplan for Wednesday and getting ready to face the Strikers."

Kickoff this Wednesday, June 29 at Lockhart Stadium against Ft. Lauderdale is set for 7:30 p.m. and the match can be seen live online at www.fctampabay.com. The match was rescheduled after inclement weather forced the postponement of the originally scheduled match on Saturday, May 14.

And tickets are still available for next Monday's Light Up The Bay 7.4 contest against the Strikers. To order your seats, call (813) 287-1539 or click here.
