After a day off on Sunday, FC Tampa Bay resumed its practice schedule Monday morning at Shimberg Fields with a two-hour session.
FC Tampa Bay went head-to-head with the NASL's top team on Saturday night, but two goals by Carolina in a three-minute span in the second half were the difference in a 2-1 victory for the RailHawks. Forward Mike Ambersley scored his team-high third goal of the year on an 86th minute penalty kick, but despite continued pressure, FC Tampa Bay could not find the equalizer to gain a point.
"We don't like to lose and we are expected to win," said FC Tampa Bay head coach Ricky Hill. "Of course all things being equal, with all of the injuries and the long road trip, anyone watching that game would have felt that we should have gotten something from that game in the way of points. We need to continue to work hard this week and get ready for Atlanta."
FC Tampa Bay returns to action this Sunday night, June 12, when it hosts the Atlanta Silverbacks at 6:00 p.m. ET at Al Lang Stadium. For tickets, call (813) 287-1539 or click here.
