The 2013 NASL Spring Season is right around the corner and the Tampa Bay Rowdies are gearing up for it not only on-field but off the field as well.
Leading up to the NASL Spring Season, the Rowdies will feature the 2013 Season Ticket Holder Event on Wednesday, March 27. The exclusive event held at the Hilton St. Petersburg Bayfront will be from 5:30-7:30 and it will feature the launch of the 2013 Official Rowdies Admiral Kit along with the entire Admiral merchandise line. This event is exclusive for season ticket holders and it will be a great opportunity for attendees to purchase the new Admiral merchandise, as well as a chance to meet and greet the 2013 Rowdies squad.
Prior to the Season Ticket Holder Event, the Rowdies will attend the Gasparilla International Film Festival VIP Opening Night Reception as honored guests on Tuesday, March 19. The GIFF focuses on providing year-long support for film screening, production, and education throughout the Tampa Bay region. The film festival will begin on March 19 and conclude on Sunday, March 24. For more information on the Gasparilla International Film Festival click here.
Within the same week, on Thursday, March 21, the Rowdies will be the honored Grand Marshall at the Grand Prix Illuminated Night Parade, a St. Petersburg tradition since 1896. The Rowdies will help kick off the race, as they parade alongside floats, marching bands, neighborhood associations, dance troupes and the Grand Prix drivers in their show cars. The parade starts at Central Avenue and 5th Street and travels east on Central Avenue, then heads north on 2nd Street. It will continue by heading east on 1st Ave North, concluding at Beach Drive towards 5th Avenue North. After the parade, there will be a firework show to close out the festivities. "I'm proud that the Rowdies can be a part of and support the arts and community events locally, helping build a collective identity and culture for our area,” said Rowdies CEO and General Manager Andrew Nestor. “The Rowdies have always been a true part of its community, and I believe that's how you can measure the true success of a sports franchise."
Tampa Bay will continue their 2013 preseason against Eckerd College on Wednesday, March 13 at 7:30 p.m. The match will be played on campus at Eckerd College, 4200 54th Avenue South, St. Petersburg, Florida.
