Practice Update: Tuesday, May 3
Posted on Tue, May 3, 2011

FC Tampa Bay spent more than two hours on the practice field at Shimberg Tuesday morning as it continued preparations for this weekend's match against Carolina at home.

Goalkeeper Daryl Sattler watched the workout on crutches from the sideline after learning that he will miss the remainder of the 2011 season after sustaining a torn ACL Saturday night against Atlanta.

"It is completely disheartening to not be able to play with the boys," said Sattler. "I am excited about the coaching staff and the players we have, and I think we are going to make a great run, and I think we still will. I am still part of the team, but I am going to miss being active with them. Jeff (Attinella) is ready for it; this is his opportunity."

Rookie Jeff Attinella, who made his professional debut in relief of Sattler, is likely to make his first career start this Saturday, May 7 at 7:00 p.m. versus the RailHawks at Al Lang Stadium.

"As a friend and a fellow player, you hate to see that," said Attinella. "I feel very bad for him. Getting to know Daryl through the preseason, he is a great guy and a team leader. This is not the way I wanted to get it, but I definitely excited to have the opportunity to hop in goal for the team and see what I can do at the professional level."
