FC Tampa Bay Returns to Practice
Posted on Mon, Mar 7, 2011

Following its preseason opener Saturday night at the University of Tampa, FC Tampa Bay returned to the practice field this morning with a session at Shimberg Fields.

“The players have come back refreshed after a day off on Sunday," said head coach Ricky Hill. "They practiced very well today and I am pleased with that and the quality of the session."

The squad worked on possession drills and took part in some intense pressure work as well as drills without the ball during the practice which lasted two and a half hours. The workout concluded with conditioning drills.

"I think a lot of the guys after four months off used the first week to get a good touch on the ball and get your fitness up," said forward Mike Ambersley. "We will look to build on what we did in the first week and look to improve."

The squad is scheduled to resume workouts on Tuesday as it prepares for its next preseason match, this Saturday, March 12 against Swedish First Division club B.K. Hacken in South Florida.
