FC Tampa Bay goalkeeper Daryl Sattler has been named the North American Soccer League Defender of the Week, the league announced on Monday.
Sattler posted his second shutout in three games this season as FC Tampa Bay played to a scoreless tie at Montreal last Saturday, April 23. Sattler made four saves in the match and recorded his second shutout of the Impact already in 2011 following a 1-0 victory in FC Tampa Bay’s season opener on April 9 at Al Lang Stadium. In that match, Sattler posted eight saves in the win.
For the year, Sattler leads the NASL with 17 saves and FC Tampa Bay has allowed just two goals, tied for the second-fewest allowed in the league so far.
