The Tampa Bay Rowdies capped off the celebration weekend with the Trophy Day and Select-A-Seat events at Al Lang Stadium in downtown St. Petersburg on Sunday. Fans were invited to tour Al Lang Stadium and pick their seat location for the 2013 season and take pictures with both the NASL Soccer Bowl Trophy and with Rowdies players.
“It’s great to finish the 2012 season with an event like this,” said Rowdies Head Coach Ricky Hill. “The fans supported us all year and an event like this gives us an opportunity to thank them for all their efforts off the pitch. It’s wonderful to have the trophy here for the fans to take pictures with it.”
Interactive activities were set up on the field for fans of all ages. This was the first opportunity for fans to check out the new field configuration for the 2013 season, as the pitch will run from North to South.
Ralph’s Mob and several other dedicated Rowdies fans supported the team with their attendance to the free event.
“Every season this event is great for the fans to check out the field, as well as for them to chat with the Rowdies players and staff,” said President of Ralph’s Mob Charlie Cole. “It’s a definite perk to display the shiny NASL Soccer Bowl Trophy that we all worked hard to get, from the players to the supporters.”
The Rowdies began their celebration weekend of the 2012 NASL Soccer Bowl Championship on Friday, November 2 at First Friday in downtown St. Petersburg. On Friday, the Rowdies took the stage at the monthly block party that forms on Central Avenue between 2nd and 3rd Street South. It was a great event for fans to take pictures with the NASL Soccer Bowl Trophy, as well as with several Rowdies players that were in attendance.
