All year long, we will be bringing you up close to members of the Tampa Bay Rowdies team.

In this feature of the 2012 Get to Know the Rowdies, we spotlight midfielder Raphael Cox, who is in his first season with Tampa Bay.

Cox joined the Tampa Bay Rowdies on August 17th, 2012, and has played in six regular season games this season. His game-winning goal for the Rowdies against Fort Lauderdale on September 1 secured Tampa Bay a spot in the 2012 NASL Playoffs.

The midfielder is originally from Tacoma, Washington, and was drafted in the fourth round of the 2009 MLS SuperDraft by Real Salt Lake. In the 2009 season, Cox made six MLS appearances for RSL, scoring one goal. After a year in the USL Premier Development League, Cox signed with the Atlanta Silverbacks in 2011. The 26-year-old appeared in 43 league matches over a span of two seasons with Atlanta. In his time there, he scored four goals and recorded four assist.
