Back to the Practice Field
Posted on Mon, Apr 11, 2011

FC Tampa Bay returned to the practice field on Monday for the first time following its dramatic season-opening 1-0 victory over Montreal on Saturday night. Head coach Ricky Hill directed a two-hour session at Shimberg Fields and was pleased following the workout.

"It was a good session this morning and I think the players are still elated from Saturday's game," said Hill. "We have worked quite hard this morning."

"We would like to continue with the momentum from the first victory this week," said Hill. "We are working quite hard on a lot of physical and technical work. The first three days of the week will be fairly demanding on the players."

Team captain and defender Frankie Sanfilippo said that the team was ready to get back on the practice field this morning.

"It was a good win this weekend and it is important to get back out here, get our legs loose and get back to work," said Sanfilippo. "We have a big game this Sunday against Puerto Rico and we need to focus this week on the things that we didn't do well against Montreal."

FC Tampa Bay hosts Puerto Rico this Sunday, April 17 at 6:00 p.m. at Al Lang Stadium.
