All year long, we will be bringing you up close to members of the Tampa Bay Rowdies team.

In this feature of the 2012 Get to Know the Rowdies, we spotlight goalkeeper Andrew Fontein, who is in his first season with Tampa Bay.

Fontein hails from Las Vegas and played collegiately at UC-Irvine. He finished his four-year career as the program’s all-time leader in wins (50), shutouts (29), goals against average (0.88) and win percentage (.747). Fontein was named Big West Goalkeeper of the Year in 2011 and was a three-time All-Big West first or second team selection.
