FCTB defeated the USF Bulls 3-0 in its 2011 preseason finale at the USF Soccer Stadium Sunday night. With the victory, FC Tampa Bay closed out its preseason schedule with four wins and two draws, including shutouts in each of its last four exhibition matches.

Keith Savage gave FCTB its first goal in the 23rd minute of the match burying the ball in the left corner of the net off of a free kick just outside the 18-yard-box.

The game remained 1-0 until the second half when FCTB scored in the 62nd minute. Savage set the ball over USF's defensive line to forward Aaron King, who lofted the ball into the back of the net.

Omar Jarun sealed the win for FCTB in the 71st minute, heading the ball in on an assist by David Hayes.

FCTB took control of the game early and overall outshot USF 19-5. Midfielder Tony McManus got the first shot off in the 11th minute with a high left-footed cross from Pascal Milien. The ball soared just above the net.

Milien took back-to-back shots on the net in the 14th and 17th minutes.

In the 31st minute Takuya Yamada's shot hit the crossbar after an excellent pass from King, whose fancy footwork sent a USF defender sliding near the six-yard-box.

In the 37th minute King sent a searing shot that was bobbled and then collected by USF goalkeeper Eric Oswald.

A USF free kick in the 43rd minute of the game was deflected off of Jarun's diving header. USF answered back shortly after with a shot that FCTB goalkeeper Daryl Sattler easily corraled.

In the second half USF made a few more valiant attempts offensively. FCTB defender JP Rodrigues slide tackled USF forward Christopher Waugh just outside of the six-yard-box preventing any opportunity for a shot.

In the 87th minute USF created a goal-scoring opportunity but was shut down by FCTB defenders and sent the ball into the outside netting of the goal.

Player Notes:
The match was FCTB and former USF goalkeeper Jeff Attinella's first time playing against his alma mater. While playing for USF Attinella was selected as the BIG EAST Conference Goalkeeper of the Year in 2009, named to the All-BIG East Conference First Team and 2009 NSCAA/Performance Subaru Men’s Division I All-American First Team as well as being selected to the 2009 NSCAA Men’s D-I All-Northeast Region First Team. This is his first season playing with FC Tampa Bay.
