What’s at Stake:

FC Tampa Bay continues its preseason with a match against BK Häcken, a Swedish team based in Gothenburg. BK Häcken is currently playing in the Swedish first division, Allsvenskan. This will be FCTB and BK Häcken's first meeting on the pitch.

Only two weeks into training this season, FCTB will be facing their toughest opponent in preseason in this week’s match. BK Häcken, a team that has been training together for two months, has already played eight matches, most recently beating Fort Lauderdale 3-1 on Wednesday, March 9.

Individual Notes:
Midfielder Keith Savage is still recovering from a strained hamstring he incurred in last week’s match against the University of Tampa and is not suiting up for this week’s training game.

“I’d love to be a part of the game,” said Savage. “But it’s more important to let it rest and be completely ready for the regular season in April.”

Jeremy Christie and Yendry Diaz will also not be playing Saturday due to injuries. Christie will be sitting out for the next few months recovering from recent hip surgery. Even though Diaz began light training with the team this week, he is still not expected to play until the beginning of the regular season.

Newly signed midfielder Tony McManus practiced with the team for the first time on Friday morning but will not make the trip to South Florida.

Former Rowdies goalkeeper Winston DuBose was at practice Friday morning and worked with the goalkeepers. GK Daryl Sattler will stay back in Tampa, with Jeff Attinella and trialist Sanel Boric on the travel roster as the club's goalkeepers for the match.

BK Hacken head coach Peter Gerhardsson will not be coaching his team on Saturday or be joining the team for the rest of the Fort Lauderdale camp.  He returned home last weekend to be with his family as his daughter received a liver transplant during the week. Assistant Coach Christian Lund has taken over coaching for the rest of the camp.
