The iconic Tampa Bay Rowdies returned on Saturday night with a 1-0 victory over FC Edmonton in the 2012 home opener at Al Lang Stadium. Defender Takuya Yamada scored in the 20th minute and goalkeeper Jeff Attinella made eight saves in the Rowdies win.
