The Tampa Bay Rowdies today announced the signing of midfielder Dan O'Brien to a two-year contract, which includes one year guaranteed and a one-year club option. O'Brien, who hails from Minneapolis, joined the team as a trialist this preseason.
The 25-year old O'Brien (5-10, 165) played collegiately at Coastal Carolina and the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay. He has seen action for several professional teams, including the Minnesota Thunder in 2008 and 2009 as well as overseas for two clubs in New Zealand. The skillful midfielder will wear jersey number 18.
The Rowdies open the 2012 regular season on the road at Puerto Rico on Saturday, April 7 before hosting FC Edmonton in the home opener on Saturday, April 14 at 7:30 p.m. at Al Lang Stadium. For ticket information for the 2012 season, 813-287-1539.
