Practice Update: Day 3 of Week 2
Posted on Wed, Mar 9, 2011

Windy conditions greeted FC Tampa Bay Wednesday morning as Head Coach Ricky Hill conducted a two-hour practice at Shimberg Fields. In addition to the team and individual drills that began the morning, the squad finished the session with an 11v11 scrimmage working on defending and finishing.

Forward Aaron King has been impressed with the workouts thus far.

“I think the practices have been excellent,” said King. “I feel like each day we are adding something and there is a purpose in each session. All of the guys have great attitudes and we are just soaking up the knowledge.”

Hill said that he was happy with the workout despite the wind.

“We took it a bit lighter today in regard to content but the attitude was first class, especially in these difficult conditions,” said Hill. “We had a great approach from the team today, especially after a hard day yesterday with two sessions.”

The team resumes practice tomorrow as it makes final preparations for its second preseason match, this Saturday, March 12, against Swedish First Division club B.K. Hacken in South Florida.

FORMER ROWDIE NEILL ROBERTS IN ATTENDANCE
Former Rowdies forward Neill Roberts was in attendance for practice and is excited for the 2011 season.

“There are a lot of new faces on the team and it is really a fresh start this season with the club and the move to Al Lang Stadium,” said Roberts. “Ricky Hill is a very experienced coach with a wonderful reputation. He had a great playing career and I know he will demand a very high standard and commitment from the entire team.”
