The NASL regular season is a balanced schedule, in which each of the teams face the seven other NASL teams four times (twice home and twice away) for a total of 28 games, concluding on the weekend of Sept 22-23. Between April 7th and September 22nd, Tampa Bay will play each NASL team four times, twice at home at Al Lang Stadium in downtown St. Petersburg and twice on the road. The top six teams advance to the NASL playoffs, with the top two receiving first-round byes.

Twelve of the 14 home games will be played on weekends or holidays, including 10 Saturday night matches and the annual Fourth of July extravaganza against the Ft. Lauderdale Strikers on Wednesday, July 4. All matches except July 4th will kick off at 7:30 p.m., with the 4th of July match time set for 6:30 p.m.

The Rowdies open the 2012 season on the road at Puerto Rico on Saturday, April 7 before hosting FC Edmonton in the home opener on Saturday, April 14 at 7:30 p.m. at Al Lang. Tampa Bay plays five of its first nine matches at home, where the team lost just once in the regular season after June 4 a year ago.

The Coastal Cup rivalry between the Rowdies and the Strikers continues this season, with Tampa Bay hosting the first leg on Saturday, April 28. The 2012 season also sees the return of the Rowdies and the NASL to the U.S. Open Cup, with Tampa Bay slated to join the competition with a second-round match on Tuesday, May 22.
