FC Tampa Bay today announced that it has re-signed defender Daniel Scott to a two-year contract, with the second year being a club option.
Scott (6-1, 185) joined FC Tampa Bay in late August of the 2011 season after he completed his second season with the Premier Development League’s Kitsap Pumas, who are based in Bremerton, Washington.
Scott was named to the Premier Development League’s 2011 All-Western Conference team and captained his club to the 2011 PDL National Championship. The 26-year old Scott scored an injury time winner at Fresno to advance his side to the PDL national semis, giving Kitsap a 1-0 win.
Scott served as team captain for the Seattle Wolves in 2009 and was named to the All-Western Conference first team, and he helped the Tacoma Tide finish first in the Northwest Division in 2008. Scott was a West Coast Conference second-team selection and four-year starter at Gonzaga University. He also saw action as a member of the Seattle Sounders reserve team in the summer of 2009.
Scott hails from Haiku, Maui, Hawaii and is the younger brother of Zach Scott, who plays for Major League Soccer's Seattle Sounders.
